Designer Mark Moskovitz launches a new four-drawer storage piece called Facecord. Referencing a standard firewood stack, Facecord is designed with contemporary sensibility and details — with indoor use in mind.
Facecord will debut in New York at The Future Perfect’s Great Jones St. store, coinciding with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair 2011 beginning on May 14, 2011.
“While the pun is intended, the piece is equally inspired by the haphazard geometry of cordwood and the accidental poetry in its stacking. The lore that a good firewood stack is tight enough to keep chipmunks from running through, has also stuck with me since I heated exclusively with firewood while living in Vermont,” says Moskovitz. “I’m drawn to anachronism in design and see this piece being as comfortable in an apartment as it is in a cabin.”
